Hi, everybody

Although I routinely develop SAP B1 add-ons with VB.NET and the SDK, this is my very first attempt at developing a short add-on using SAP B1 STUDIO.

It seems silly, but I cannot make even the simplest example work!

Here are my steps. Please tell me what I am doing wrong:

.

.

1. Open Visual Studio, and create a new project:

File -> New Project -> SAP Business One -> SAP Business One Add-on Project

.

2. Save as SBOAddOnProject4

.

3. Add the connection string in Command Line Arguments

.

4. Build the project.

.

Note: this project is the simplest possible. It has an empty form called New Form 1.

.

5. Open SAP B1 and log in.

.

6. Run the project in debug mode in VS.

.

I was expecting to see New Form 1 pop up against the SAP B1 background, but this does not happen.

Can anyone please help me with my very first attempt at SAP B1 Studio?

Note : SAP B1 Studio is already installed.

Thanks

Leon

Hi Leon,

It should have create a Menu in SAP Business One Main Menu. From there, you can open the New Form 1.

Hope it helps.

Hi, Ankit

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you are right. SAP B1 Studio does not work exactly the same as native SDK.

It works now!

I am closing this thread, but would be happy if you can answer the foll. questions:

(1) Can we create .ard file from code generated in Studio?

(2) Is clicking on a menu the correct way to run ALL add-ons written in Studio?

(3) Is it possible to change the font size of the caption on the button?

Best Regards,

Leon

Hi Leon,

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Yes. You can create the ARD same way. From B1 Studio also, you can package your add-on. Use the option SAP Business One Studio -> Extension Package.

2. It is done by default by B1 Studio. That is how it is designed. But you can always change it as per your need.

3. Never tried. You can give it a try.
