What's an IAC?

Hello everybody,

my question is quite simple...

What's an IAC?

I have to install a Business Package in EP and comunicate it with the ESS in the backend system.

I have read that the Portal shows the backend content via IAC, but... What's that?

Any help, links or documentation are very welcome.

Hi Alberto,

the short definition of ICA:

Internet Application Components: allow intranet and Internet users to access business information in SAP R/3 (today: mySAP Enterprise Resource Planning) by starting transactions, functions and reports from a Web browser.

So...

IAC's are one type of programs developed in R/3 which are accesible from the internet, aren't they?

In the Portal there is an specific iView to integrate the IAC you want, so... I think I have understand...
