What is the maximum length of a login name in CRM 5.0, where is this information documented, and can the maximum length be extended without affecting upgradeability?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Though CRM 5.0 allows the password length upto 40 chars., it is not advisable to use the password more than 8 chards. The reason is, when the documents are uploaded to R/3 via RFC user, if the password length is more than 8 chars., then the exception is raised in SM21. For this reason the documents will not get replicated to R/3.
Thanks,

Hi Steve,
If you are talking about the CRM server then you are allowed to create a user of length 12, If you are talking about the user creation from the ISA application then you can create a user of length 40.
With CRM 5.0 you can also have a password of max lenght 40 which was not present in CRM 4.0.
