    Hi,

You need a BPM for this.

Take a look at the blog filerfcfile . yours will be similar to this,

But doesnt it slowdown the system performance if we keep using BPM for all these simple scenario. In other middleware like webMethods and TIBCO u dont need to involve BPM at all for this scenario. So, does that mean XI performance will be bad compared to webMethods or Tibco in this kind of scenario?

    Hi Gayatri,

You need to use BPM becuase file adapter cannot work in a sync mode.

Refer to the blog suggested in Bhavesh's reply. That's a good one to start of with.

Also, instead of RFC, call WebService through SOAP Receiver Adapter.

For this, you need to have WSDL from webservice imported into External Definition in Repository.

    For Webservices check this blog-

    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/03/23/rfc--xi--webservice--a-complete-walkthrough-part-1

    I hope this helps.

    Regards.

does that mean, if the scenario has synchronous call to any application, then we need to use BPM and if only async calls then we dont need BPM. Is this right or am I missing anything?

    • Hi,

      >>does that mean, if the scenario has synchronous call to any application, then we need to use BPM

Yes, (With help of BPM we can make it to wait for the Response )

      >>and if only async calls then we dont need BPM. Is this right or am I missing anything?

      Yes, We can say.

When we use BPM there will be bit performance issue will be there, But not to your assumption.
