set of date characteristics enhancement

Hi All,

I am trying to add set of date characteristics (eg. year, month etc) with range or with optional variables for one perticular characteristic which is also date.

I already created all those date characteristics and added the required formula for year, month, week etc. now everything is in backend - cube is activated what ever is required is there.

How do i get all those characteristics in BEx query ? I have a query which shows the main characteristics and underneith the set of date characterstics should be (for which i created formulas).

Can some one please suggest the steps ?

I will come back and assign the points surely.

    Hi:

    Your other characteristics should be in the Time Dimension on the felf hand side of Query Designer.

    To see the variables, you have to drap and drop them in Rows. Right Click and select Restrict. Here, select the tab called Variables. You will see your variables here.

      i think my question is not clear !!!!

      i have one infocube: Payment

      alongwith other key figures counter payment KF is there too.

      time characteristics: 0calday, 0calmonth, 0calweek, 0calyear, etc....

      characteristics: payment date, payment for week, payment for year, payment for month,

      dimension for Payment is there which contains characteristics - payment date, payment for week, payment for year,.....

      few navigational attributes are also there.

      Update Rules: Payment --> has different KFs. (eg. counter payment, amount,etc...)

      counter payment has source keyfigure: payment (KF calculation). Its has all the characteristics. In the list of those characteristics i have forulas for payment for week, payment for month, payment for day, payment for year etc... (eg. of formulas: DATE_MONTH, DATE_YEAR, etc...) --> until this point i have created.

      Now my question is i want to have payment query which has dimension --> payment date and under the payment date I want all the characteristics payment for week, payment for month etc..... how do i get that ? and after having those characteristics i want to create characteristics values variables via customer exit (eg. first week of month...etc..)

      I guess long story short - if i want to added new characterstics and then how do i get those in BEx query designer ? so i can create characteristics variable on that.

      hope my question is clear...can some one suggest me the steps ? I will assign the points to the answer.

    Hi:

    I don't know if my answer will help you.

    You already created the Characteristics.

    You inserted them in P-CUBE (Payment Cube).

    Did you place them in the Payment Dimenstion within the Cube?

    If you did and you finished updating. Whatever you have in the Cube, you will see them in Query Designer (on left side). Whatever you have in Query Designer on Righr Side, you will see them in BEx.

    If you don't see the Payment Week, etc in BEx, drag and drop them into Rows from the Lelf hand side of Query Designer. If you don't see them in left hand side, then they are not physically in Cube nor are they Navi attributes.
