I am working on Crystal Reports 2013 SP 9 querying SQL server 2012 database.

I have a table field defined as "image" datatype that I am trying to show on my report. When the command brings the field to the report, the datatype lists as "Picture" for this column.

When I drop the field on the details section, I do not see the image. It's blank. Clearly, I am missing something. Can someone please help with the issue.

Thanks

Sunil

Hi Sunil,

Does the field contain 'textual' info or an actual image?

Textual info stored as an image (blob) are shown blank in Crystal Reports.

Hi Abhilash,

Thanks for your help.

From the front end application user has uploaded a pdf document. Here is a screen shot from the sql table. Is there any way I can show the document on my report? Any work arounds?

Thanks

Sunil

There is no way to show a PDF stored in a blob field in the report. Since it's not in the format of an image (such as jpg, bmp, png) even though it's in an image field, Crystal doesn't know how to display it.
