explaination of GET statement

hello,

I have made a copy of the RFKQST80 program so that I can made some mods to the report. In the START-OF-SELECTION section I see statements like <b>GET ska1, GET skb1, GET bseg</b>. I checked the ABAP help (F1 over the GET word) but I cannot seem to follow what this doing. Can someone please explain this to me or give some clearer documentation than what is in the help.

thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Get is used when you are working with logical database. If you go to the attributes of this program you will see a logical database maintained for this. The name of the logical database is SDF.

Actually Get is an equivalent of Select and it will select from the required tables like ska1 skb1 and bseg. Get is used because it will automatically give you a selection screen if there is one in the logical database and will also take care of authority checks.

But basically it will work like a select query with authorizations already declared.

Between the start-of-selection & end-of-selection events, a get event is similar to a SELECT..ENDSELECT loop.

    ie

GET ska1 is the equivalent of SELECT * from SKA1.

GET skb1 is the equivalent of SELECT * from SKb1.

GET bseg is the equivalent of SELECT * from bseg.

The table work areas will be availble with data for further processing..

    Hi

    Regards,

    Raj

Gets the table dbtab for processing while the logical database is running. You can address all the fields from dbtab in the subsequent processing. You can also refer to fields from tables in the logical database on the access path to the table dbtab .

    Note

You can use the event " GET dbtab. " only once in the report.

    Addition 1

    ... LATE.

    Effect

Executes the code following " GET dbtab LATE. " only when all the subordinate tables have been read and processed.
