Real Time Cube Problem

Former Member

Friends

i am using real time cube for the first time.

I have installed CRM_C01 .

Now how am i going to load the data.

As per the documentation on SAP i could understand that it can be loaded in two ways.

Real-time InfoCubes can be filled with data using two different methods: Using the transaction for entering planning data and using BI staging, whereas planning data then cannot be loaded simultaneously.

But we want the plant data. After installing what is the next step that i need to follow in order to see the data in the cube.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sundaresan,

There are 3 ways to enter data in the cube:

1) you can load it using normal BI data staging: an update rule or DTP from another datasource is loaded in the cube using info packages. You can only do this if the transactional cube is flagged for load mode (right click on the cube, you will see the option to swith from load mode to transactional mode)

2) you can manually enter data using an input layout in BPS: you need to set up planning profile; planning area; planning level; planning package; manual planning; planning layout (transaction BPS0).

This only works if the cube is set to transactional mode.

3)you can manually enter data using integrated planning: you set up aggregation level; filters; ... in transaction RSPLAN and create an input ready query. This is only supported as of 2004S and the cube should be switched to trasactional mode.

Please assign points if this solved your problem,

Supplementing Filip,

From NW2004s BPS is now IP and Transactional cube now Real time cube, and BPSO changed to RSPLAN

so

For REAL TIME CUBE you get 2 options on R-Click -->Real-time infocube load behaviour

1)"Real- Time data target can be loaded with data;planning not allowed"

If you want to load data from R/3 or any other external system use this option

2)"Real - Time data target can be planned;data loading not allowed"

If you want to WRITE data using SEM-IP or BCS functionality then use this option

Note- Applies for SEM Transactional Cube only

If u r not able to view the data because the request is in yellow state then u need to close these request using the functional module

RSAPO_CLOSE_TRANS_REQUEST

especially its for SEM functionality as it wont have request turned green untill the record volume is >10,000.

If the request is not closed(not GREEN status) and you still need to see the data use the specific 0REQUID technical characteristic

For reporting u just need to pull these in Filter and it should work.

Tips- 3 Variables do exist for these charecteristic as listed below

0S_RQMRC:

You should use this variable if you want a query to also return data that was yet not rolled up into the aggregates. However, only requests up to the first request with an incorrect status are displayed, transactional InfoCubes are therefore read in full.

0S_RQTRA:

Unlike the 0S_RQMRC variable, this only affects transactional InfoCubes. As during normal reading, only the data that is also in the aggregates is read from the other InfoCubes. You can use the variable in queries on a MulitProvider that consists of a transactional InfoCube for planned data and a second InfoCube for the actual data. In this case, the planned dates entered are immediately visible, but the actual data only becomes visible after the usual release procedure.

0S_RQALL:

This variable affects all InfoCubes. If a query contains this variable, all of the data in this InfoCube is read, regardless of whether or not it belongs to a request with an incorrect status.

Hope it helps

To enter planning data directly into cube,it should of type transactional infocube i.e. BPS cube. Then you have to create planning areas, levels, manual planning layout/planning layots, planning functions to enter data.
