Redwood CPS on S/4 HANA Finance

Former Member

Current Situation:

We are using SAP CPS 8.0 by Redwood.

We are looking at moving SAP Finance part to S/4HANA Finance. (For the sake of clarity, formerly SAP Simple Finance).

We may decide to go for ‘S/4 HANA Finance 1503: ADD-ON TO ECC 6.0 EHP7’ or ‘S/4 HANA Finance 1605: ADD-ON TO ECC 6.0 EHP8’.

Currently we are on EHP7.

Question:

I need to know if SAP CPS 8.0 by Redwood will be compatible to run the jobs for any of these ‘S/4 HANA Finance’ environments or there would be any upgrade mandatory.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Hi Mark,

I have done one S/4 HANA Finance migration project and we had redwood scenario there. Redwood is fully compatible with S/4 HANA Finance product without any adjustment or upgrade at Redwood side.

I know it's very late reply. But it's worth concluding the question.

Hi Mark,

What kind of redwood jobs you are referring to, is it billing related or closing?

Thanks,
Nishan

Thanks for replying Devraj.

While moving to S/4 HANA Finance, first thing we would need to make sure that we are able to run any batch job in 'S/4 HANA Finance' by Redwood CPS. As you mentioned, we would phase out the need of having batch jobs running in 'S/4 HANA Finance' later. Right now we want to make sure that it will not make it mandatory to upgrade our Redwood CPS 8.0 tool once we move to any version of 'S/4 HANA Finance'. Any type of insight will be helpful. Thanks again.

I don't understand why you would need Redwood to run batch jobs in S/4, I would expect S/4 to replace batch jobs and most of the reports you are running on Finance would be online on S/4.
