Visual Composer by itself is fairly useless - you need a NetWeaver Portal to deploy the models on. Without that its very limited in what you can do.

If you want the latest version of Visual Composer (Version 7.0, based on NetWeaver release NW04S) then I suggest you obtain this from The SAP Service Marketplace (you will need a SAP customer ID for this). This does not sound however possible for you.

The only other way of getting a trial version is to download the NW04S "Sneak Preview" edition from the SDN Downloads area and install it. This is very large, and takes some time and resources but includes all the components you need:

      - Portal 7.0

      - VC 7.0

      - Guided Procedures

      - CAF Core etc.

The VC architecture has been completely rewritten between V6.0 and V7.0, so I suggest you are largely wasting your time on V6.0.

The sneal preview version for example does not need either MSSQL or IIS webserver.

      Cheers, Phil G.
