Own Odette ID in OFTP adapter in sap PI

Hello,

We have B2B add-on in our sap PI sytem. and we will use sender and receiver OFTP adapter.

How do we define own odette id? We must provide from Odette or we can define it ourself(for example O0013PIDEV. When we give it partner, it is enought to conenction?)?

PI certificate is enought to connection or we must buy certificate from Odette?

How can we test OFTP adapter ourself?

Thank you,

Nurhan

Hi Nurhan,

yes you can try to use your custom OdetteID. It should be unique worldwide. So use

O00130000MyCompany instead O0013PIDEV.

However if you need to use the Odette certificates with your partners you will need to buy your Odette certificate per communication system (FQDN). PO certificates are not sufficient enough with big OEMs like Volvo, Renault, etc.

You can test OFTP2 Adapter settings with your own PI system by sending messages to your system back. It is like having a SOAP scenario for loop back. However these test will not use the certificates at all.

Kind regards

Hi Konrad,

Thank you.

We have wildcard certificate. Can we use it for connection in Prod system. We didn't buy certificate from Odette.

So i need to define odette id, password, virtual file name in PI adapter myself. Isnt' it?

Nurhan

Hi Nurhan,

yes. You are quite free to define your own IDs. In many EDI systems these IDs need to fit a predefined schema, e.g. O1300000Nurhan.

Kind regards

Konrad
