Report performance of 2004s J2EE Web runtime comparing to that of 3.x

Hi All,

I feel that thre report performance of the 2004s J2EE web runtime is worse than that of 3.x web runtime.

I would like to know what cause the difference and how to improve.

Suppose using the same query, waht cause the difference. only I can guess is that memory of the PC influence this performance..

Yes you are right, it is a lot worse, specially from the portal. Things to try are aggregates and new functionality such as precalculation and the filling of the OLAP cache.

If your budget suffices, the BI Accelerator looks to be the way to go.

Thanks. But I would like to know the proces of the front end. Aggregation and BIa only optimize the data reading performance from DB table.

Use the "&PROFILING=X" parameter to debug java performance on the frontend.
