I need to upgrade our current J2EE engine from 6.20 to 6.40. Since there is no upgrade path, I need to perform a new installation of 6.40. I have been looking at the installation guides, but have question about the installation itself. Since the installation will serve as a "replacement" to 6.20. Would this be considered an add-in installation? This installation will be on an existing EBP system.
Hi Kevin,
ther eis a complete <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ce/2074d9b0fcde4f978bb0118e5b30c7/frameset.htm">Migration manual</a>in the docs.
If you don't do a complete NetWeaver installation anyways, I'd recommend to install Java only for porting your stuff to 6.40. If you're using RFC heavily, you can also use an add-in.
Regards,
Benny
