Assigning Unrestricted stocks to a new Batch

Hi,

I have created a new batch in storage location 0003 (manufacturing) for a given material using transaction MSC1N - Batch Create.

Does anyone know, what is the process flow to assign Unrestricted stock/quantities of the material to the new batch created?

This is to avoid the error message of :

"Deficit of BA Unrestricted-use"

Good morning and greetings,

For your query, if you want only to transfer the stock from unrestricted into batch (assumption no other open transactions are there for that particular material) then you can do as below

Step No.1 Deactivate the Batch Management for that particular material

Step No.2 Move the stock out from unrestricted using Movement Type 201 using MB1A

Step No.3 Activate the Batch Management for that particular material

Step No.4 Move the stock back using Movement Type 202 to that particular batch using MB1A

In this way you can achieve the desired result. Alternatively, if you dont have any restriction to use 561 and 562 in MB1C, you can achieve the same result.
