Passing data between iviews

Hi,

I need to generate the output of some queries on to the portal using the visual composer. Now, the user has a input scree with fields like Name and Age. Once the user fills in this data, this will form the input for 6 different queries which are all 6 different iviews. Now i can pass the data when both the iviews are on the same page but here all 6 iviews are on different pages and different under different roles too(role is jsut to identify the group to which the iview belongs like Employee info, Appraisal data etc.), how can i pass the data from the input form to all the other iviews in different pages?

    The event passing only works on the same page. To change individual iViews on an indivdiual page, you'll have to use the dynamic navigation capabilities on the portal.

    Interesting topic,

    <u><b>URL CALL</b></u>

    In the SP8 of VC, ff you can use the URL of the iView to call it, then create a model with a start point and your parameters and then:

    Singleton start point with the following parameters: {BANK_CTRY, MAX_ROWS}

    <b>

    <The IView URL and other portal parameters>&_</b>paramsXmlStr_=<Params><Row BANK_CTRY="US" MAX_ROW="10"></Params>

    Well this is an example, but try it out with

    Array start point (Multiple parameters) with the following parameters: {BANK_CTRY, BANK_KEY, BANK_NAME}

    <b><The IView URL and other portal parameters>&_</b>paramsXmlStr_=<Params><Row BANK_CTRY="US" BANK_KEY="0000000001" BANK_NAME="AAA"> </Row>><Row BANK_CTRY="US" BANK_KEY="0000000002" BANK_NAME="BBB"></Row>><Row BANK_CTRY="US" BANK_KEY="0000000003" BANK_NAME="CCC"></Row></Params>

    <u><b>IView Parameter Generation</b></u>

    In the Visual Composer model, if you insert in you model the info-actor "User Data", then you can create additional fields and for instance your parameters, and then you will find these created fields as additional parameters in the generated iView in the portal and then I guess (I didn't test it) that you can call the portal iView parameterized with these additional iView parameters.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards

    JH
