Posibility: Send SolMan System Data to SAP Service Marketplace?

Former Member

Hello community.

I've got an easy question. We've have updated our SAP Systems to mySAP ERP. Now I've got to change the system descriptions of the system in the SAP service marketplace. As there are a lot of systems I don't want to do this stupid work manually. So I ask you, if there's an posibility to transfer the correct system data out of the solman 4.0 system to the sap service market place. Perhabs an job or an report ...?

With system data I mean e.g. the version of the System, the name of the new server ...

Further I'm looking for a way to change the SAP Router description in the SAP Service Marketplace. I can't find this function anywhere. Has someone an idea?

Many thanks in advance ...

Michael-Christian

Does anyone know what is transferred for a java system?

After SMSY SP9 synchronization, the component list in OSS does not bear any resemblance to that in Sol Man 4.0. Shouldn't the OSS component list be the union of ABAP and JAVA Application Server Software Components?

Does it only transfer the ABAP Server Software Component list at this time? (that seems to be the case.) Is JAVA server component list transfer planned for a later support package?

Hi Ken,

for now you are right. I forwarded the issue to the responsible developers but I can't tell you when this will be fixed.

Hi Ken,

good news for you. We will send Non-ABAP Software Components to SAP as of Solman 4.0 SP12. When you use SLD to collect your system info SLD will create a system component in SMSY for each IGS, ITS Java-System and TREX found. You need to assign these components to the corresponding System in SMSY manually. Then the available component information for these Software Components will be sent to SAP support systems whenever it is changed and SAP support can use this data to give you better support.

Hi Michael,

all my predecessors are kind of right.

1. EWA (Early Watch Alert) did the job in the past. However since SP09 it does it only for productive systems and test systems not for all other kinds of systems. Also the old EWA that sends directly from the satelite system is restricted on these system types.

2. The gap is filled by System Data Synchronization via transaction SMSY available as of SP09. The note 993775 describes the details. The manual mentioned there is the extended help documentation of SMSY: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/2c/272bf256a448a6a41dc093bd269bfe/content.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/2c/272bf256a448a6a41dc093bd269bfe/content.htm</a>

If you have questions on this - feel free to ask. I am was the project lead for this.

Hi Sri,

Hi Andreas,

I have some issues with the synchronization:

- kernel patch levels won't synchronize, I maintained them manually in service marketplace but now they are empty after synchronization

- informix database seems not supported, at least it also is empty after synchronization

Do you know anything about that? Or should I open an OSS message?

Pascal

Hi Pascal,

kernel patch levels are collected from Satelite Systems by the LANDSCAPE_FETCH-Job in some but not all cases. Since we don't get that value reliable we don't show it on the SMSY-UI yet. They are stored in tables SMSY_HW_INST and SMSY_HW_INST_2 in Field KERNEL_PATCH. If a value is available in one of these tables it is sent to SAP Support Portal. Unfortunately also the value SPACE is updated in the system data application in SAP Support Portal. I could recreate the problem here. This is a bug that needs to be fixed by the responsible colleagues. Besides all values transferred by Solman should be locked and coloured red in SAP Support Portal. This is not done in the case of the kernel patch level. So please open an OSS-Ticket for these two issues in XX-SER-SAPSMP-SYS.

The Informix DB should by synched to. Please check at the system header in SMSY if a DB is assigned. Click on it and check the technical data tab. These values should be synched to the database server in System Data. If not, please open a ticket on SV-SMG-SYS and I will look at it.

If you want you can write the ticket numbers in this thread so I can write a comment in the tickets.

I can only encourage everyone to ask questions as Pascal did. In four weeks we have to decide if we set the default for synchronization to "On" for all solman customers with SP11. If I don't get any feedback from you we assume everything is fine!

Hi Andreas,

I collect data from SLD, under SMSY -> Databases the Manufacturer and the Release gets filled. Now I see the problem, there were some notes about the DB SID is stored in lower case letters instead of upper case. Under Systems the DB SID is in lower case while under Databases it's in upper case, so the assignment fails. For DB6 databases it's correct.

For the kernel version I checked both tables you mentioned, I only have kernel patch versions filled in for 2 systems (only checked those with VERSION=ACTIVE) out of about 30.

So it seems that both issues do not have directly to do with synchronization to support portal.

HI Michael,

some of the system parameters get updated automatically if you sent the EarlyWatch reports to SAP, like software versions, hostnames etc.

Hello Pascal. Thank you for your answer.

I searched today in the ServiceMarketPlace and found it out, too.

I'm not having any luck finding how to transfer solman system data to service marketplace. The only thing I find is 993775 that references a manual I can't find. Can you point out what note or manual you found the procedure in?

Hi Valerie,

do you have SPS9 installed? If yes, just use transaction SMSY. When you've defined your systems or configured the SLD data transfer you can go to "Systems" and click on the SID of your system, then there is a tab called "System Data in SAP Support Portal" where you can synchronize data of SMSY with the data in service marketplace.
