Hi Gurus,
Can somebody give me some insight into the below details plz
Transactional Data targets
Standard Data Targets
like what is the difference between them and in which scenario we use the above or else rather i can say what is the actually situation which will make us to select between the above two.
thanks and regards
Neel
Hi Neel,
Transactional data targets are used to write as well as read the data . means in while planning you can write the planned data into transactional cubes where as standard data targets are only used to load the data using conventional loading process.
Hope iam clear.

Hi Apparao
Thanks for the info
Can you give me some detailed explaination where in differentiating
the conventional loading process and the Write capability i am a bit confused.
Can we do reporting on this Transactional Data Targets if no then what is the purpose of this targets
thanks and regards
Neel
Of corse you can make reporting on Transactional data target; they are usually used for planing in SEM-BPS and they are technically optimized for data write and not only for fast read; this cube could be loadable like the other or used to save data from BPS layout (by switching them).
Hope it helps.
Regards
Hi,
Lets take an example of Transactional/non transactional Infocube.
We can directly enter data into transactional infocube by some transaction.i.e. BPS cube is transactional infocube where data can be entered thru BPS manual/planning layouts.and data can be entered thru loading process(update rules, transfer rules...ect) aslo with the setting 'switech transactional infocube...'.Transactional infocubes are used to enter planning data directly into Infocube by planners based on actual data(from non tzransactioanl infocube)..
You can do reposting on transactional InfoCubes by using Bex.Usually we build a multiPrivider combining Transactional and non tranctional infocubes to view actual as well as planned data in one report.
you can not enter data directly into non transactional infocube directly but only thru loading process..
