Hi,

We restarted the j2ee from smicm. However

the change seems did not become effective.

Should we re-start the SQL server DB?

Where to look the log file to make sure

that DB has been re-started?

Please help. Points guaranteed.

Dear Agasthuri Doss:

Thanks!

In our situation, on sapmmc, there is no entry for SQL

server. SQL server is on another GUI tool called

SQL server enterprise manager.

So

1) if I re-start the PI on sapmmc, is the DB also

re-started?

2) where to view the log to verify there is a restart

of the DB? I get intp the event view but see nothing.

Thank you, points guaranteed.

- NO

From OS level see the event view.

3)From SQL server enterprise manager also you can view the Log.

Dear Agasthuri Doss:

1) so the procedure is stop the instance on sapmmc, then

stop the DB on SQL server enterprise manager;

start the DB on SQL server enterprise manager, then

start the instance on the sapmmc?

2) Would you give me the location of the log that

shows the DB restarted? Anyway I cannot find it.

Thanks!

Dear Jennifer Lee,

>> so the procedure is stop the instance on sapmmc

In the Command Prompt - stopsap ( if we do it it automatically stops the DB )

>> then start the instance on the sapmmc?

In the Command Prompt - startsap_hostname_instance number

>>stop the DB on SQL server enterprise manager

a)Logging in Operating system level ( as root)

b)From tool called - BRtools stop the instance.

>>location of the log that

shows the DB restarted?

In the Event view you can find it.
