DMS - Templates for original files

Hi to all,

When I try to create an original files using "Create by copying" the following error message appears "File C:\DOCUME1\fleming\CONFIG1\Temp\MAN-9206EF16D57C cannot be created"

Previously in SPRO\Define workstation application" for an Appl in option "Define templates for original files" I specified the document type, applic., language, No, Description and Source File - Copy From, (and the path here and in Define workstation application in network).

Does anybody know how I can handle with this?

Thanks very much!

Regards,

Martin

    The other possibility may be file length. We have picked up problems before relating to the length of the file path.

    Test the template using a short file path.i.e. C:\TEMPLATES\ or something like that to see if its the issue.

      Hi,

      Try with "WWI" and Source Document,

      First Step:-

      After selecting the “WWI” application, and then click “Define templates for Original files”

      Click on “details” without going to Define templates, you go to the next screen

      make the required/necessary settings like “file format”, “File suffix for appl”, “Delete file after check-in”

      Second Step:-

      And then click on “Define templates for Original files” goto details.

      Fill the Source document (what you have created)

      Later you have to create a document and attach the Original (Template)

    You also need to make settings for Define Workstation application -> Define workstation application in network

    Make an entry for application type 2 (change) and Provide 'Path of ref. file'

    Dear Martin,

    The two possibilities that cause problems creating documents with

    templates are the following

    1: Source template file path is in-correct / not accessible.

    2: Target file path is in-correct / not accessible.

    To maintain the customizing settings regarding the template path, please start transaction 'DC30' and do the following:

    1. Select for exampel WS application 'WRD' and double click on the file 'Define

    workstation application in network'. Double click on the entry

    DD (data carrier type), WRD (WS application), 2 (application type).

    On the following screen maintain the path for the reference file.

    2. Go back to the first screen of DC30, select again WS application

    'WRD' and double click on ' Define templates for original files'.

    Select the first entry (AUT/WRD/EN/1) and have the details displayed.

    In the field 'Copy from' (Source file) delete the path and enter

    just the file name and format.

    Hence firstly I urge you to check source / target paths on your system

    and even after valid paths you are unable to create a document, then

    kindly put a break point in the function LCV120F26 in function group

    CV120, at the below mentioned line

    IF NOT pf_template IS INITIAL.

    lf_source_file = pf_template.

    lf_target_file = pf_file.

    CALL FUNCTION 'WS_FILE_COPY'

    EXPORTING: destination = lf_target_file

    source = lf_source_file

    IMPORTING: return = lf_error.

    CASE lf_error.

    After the function call 'WS_FILE_COPY', get the values of

    lf_target_file, lf_source_file and lf_error variables.

    Best regards,

    Christoph
