How to perform System Copy in SAP BI??

We are having a Dev system which is on Aix and has one CMS server and one has a tomcat, we will be creating a system copy, so the plan is to take a copy of the CMS DB on a restore that copy on the newly built Temporary Dev. Apart from that, what other precautions need to be taken?

I have below doubts

1. Do we need to do anything to maintain the Data Sources as in the Original Dev?

2.How to configure the servers and services as they are in the Dev System?

3. Is there a way to check on the existing Dev system , where we can see what components are installed?( SMD, WIlly Introscope and so on which will be installed during a fresh install)

Regards

Syed

0. Cloning is not recommended and if attempted requires a very good knowledge of the BOE architecture and concepts.
1. No, unless those change.
2. By reviewing each config in CMC and comparing
3. Run AddOrRemoveProduct.sh script - it'll show what is installed.

But before, review KBA's

When I run AddOrRemoveProduct.sh all i can see is BI Platform 4.1 SP5, how can I know if SMD, Willy Introscope is part of the installation or not?

In AddOrRemoveProduct.sh select modify and then see if those are selected as part of install.

Otherwise you'll need to see if the conf files required for their usage are created/modified.

Ok, need to probably check that by stopping the SIA.
