Init Delta in Generic Delta

Hi,

I have created data source in R3 , it was havin 19 records

i used View on LFA1 , LFB1 .

I scheduled using Full upload , 19 records are there in Cube.

I again created 1 vendor , Now 20 records in View . When i try to do Init Delta . Traffic light in monitor change to RED .

'No succesful Init took Place'.

But i manually put Green. Data source is visible in RSA7.

If i create i new info package and schedule with 'delta'.

It changes green with 1 record ( Created New ) , But that record in not in Cube.

How to do Init Delta.

I appreciate any help with points

Hi,

You don't need to replicate everytime there is change in data. However take into the account safety interval that you have set for Generic Delta. You will find more information on doing F1 for Safety Intervals in Generic Delta set up of RSO2.

I could see the newly created vendor no in RSA3 ,

but if i run Init Delta I get the name of datasource in RSA7 , but if i see data in that ,

it shows 'List Contains No Data'

I need why this happens .

How to look the contents of the delta queue in generic extarcton ( Like RSA3 in LO ) , i have to check whether the newly created vendor came to queue or not .

Hi ,

When i look RSA2 , I Could only see BUKRS , BBSNR fields

no LIFNR , I donot know which field to give in Generic delta .

Init Delta is Changing Green . RSA7 shows Data Source.

When i run Delta , It shows 0 records , but status is green . Help me to solve this .

Hi ,

Have you given LIFNR field as delta specific , it is Vendor Ac. No , if you are creating new record you will be creating only Vendor No . I had problem like this Check the delta field .

ALE type can only be used for ODS .

Hi ,

These are my steps .

1. View Creatioon.

2. RSO2 , Create transaction source , Give view name.

Click 'Generic Delta ' , Selected field .

Give 'Numeric Pointer ' , 'Additive Delta'. Save

3.Replicated In BW ,Created Info objects ,info cube ,

Assigned Datasource .

4.Created Info package 'Full Upload'. All Record came

5.Created Info Pack 'Init Delta'.

6.Created i record in R3.

7.Created info pack 'Delta' . 0 records added.

Which field do you have inserted for delta specific field?

Is it a standard field of LFA1 or LFB1?

I don't remember a Numeric pointer in these tables.

Hi ,

When i do full update the correct record comes , But after 'init Update' Given RSA7 shows data source , if i schedule with Delta , I get green signal now but O records , Why this happens.

I think init Delta is succesful .

I didnt give Safety interval , Can you tell me about safety intervalk and its use.

If i create a new Vendor using FK01 , Should i need to replicate each time for the new records to come in delta update . Or Replication is not necessary .

When i try to 'Init Delta ' the following error comes

The DataSource ZEXVEN uses delta process AIE, which is not suitable for direct updates into an InfoCube, because the changed status of a record, and not the change itself is transferred.

Please have a look at the "how to .." document. It's quite simple.

You have the option to define the delta when you create the generic, there is a button "Generic Delta" at the top of the screen next to the "save" button.

In RSO2 , I selected ' Generate Delta ' Button , and gave the field names , saved .

Then i replicated in BW .

Where to specify 'Update Method ' in generic extraction.

you need to specify which kind of method for delta you'll use for a generic extraction.

There is an "how to.." about it:

I think that in a view on a standard table you can take the modification date of one table (not possible for twice table).
