CTS+ configuration for HANA MDC

Hi,

I am implementing all the steps that were outlined in document

(https://www.sap.com/documents/2015/07/6ac162e3-527c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa.html#) but getting an error CTS system not reachable. I would like to know what steps I will have to change to accommodate MDC. I tried searching for documents explaining CTS for HANA MDC. Any help is appreciated.

You may also want to check if SAP note 2097341 is helping to resolve (or at least telling what you should do before opening an incident with SAP).

Hi Ram,

I am also trying to configure CTS+ configuration using How to document for single container database. however while creating HTTP destination from dev HANA DB to Solution manager it is giving error -

Error-The CTS system is not reachable.

Can you please help me.

Hi Florian,

Thank you so much for the response. I had the IP and port incorrect. Few things were misleading. Document stated to use 50000 port in CTS for webservice which is not always the case and it depends on the port that gateway is configured to use. I was able to correct it using the checklist document that I found. Also in the document Page 12 I found the reference to MDC which is misleading (See below) and people may think they need to create webservice for each tenant which is not the case.

CAUTION If you use SAP HANA multitenant database containers (MDC), you have to create a separate destination for the tenant DB that is used as a target system. Make sure that the CTS system can reach the respective tenant DBs. If you would like to use CTS+ with MDC, your SAP HANA system has to have Revision 93 installed. Details about how the http-access has to be configured are provided on the SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_hanaplatform/helpdata/en/af/24ce38929b4f1fa934a28147fc7641/content.htm Note that in SAP HANA Studio you also have to configure the URL of your tenant in System Properties XS Properties.

The document you are using is the right one. There exists no other specific version for MDC, cause the MDC relevant information is already included in that document.

Are you able to share more details on your issue (error messages, etc). Also you wrote that you get an error that the "CTS system" is not reachable. Is that really the case or do you mean that the HANA MDC instance is not reachable from the CTS system. In the second case it could be that the HTTP destination configuration or the underlying HTTP Access configuration for HANA MDC instances is wrong (at least from my personal experience that was in most cases the reason).
