Hi,
To use a Barcode it is always good to choose SAP Scripts. SAP Scripts are more adaptable to Lables with Barcodes. Useually a Zebra printer is used to print lables. Most of the printers use BARTENDER software to print lables with barcodes. SAP Scripts are runs effiently in this atmosphere... If I were to choose I would go for SAP SCRIPTS

this is how it works... Many companies use a software named Bartender to print the logos n barcodes. It will be complicated if you try to make logos n barcodes in a page with either smartforms or SAP Scripts. One advantage a SAP Script has is that Bartender Code ( Code generated by Bartender ) can be copied into SAP Script. This way one can avoid formating forms in SAP Script and smart forms.
Smart forms do not recognise Bartender software. We used the same software to print the Lables with barcodes n logos.

Barcodes have got nothing do with the choice of scripts and smartforms.
YOu can use any of them.
In scripts it is simple.
You have to create a character format for barcodes.
YOu have to use the character format for the field for which you want the bar code.
like this:
p1 <bc>v_matnr</>
here p1 is a paragraph format
and bc is a character format.
When you define the BC character format, choose an appropriate font/style for barcode.
