Restricting users to view list of all project definitions

Hi Friends,

Can any one help to find out solution?. Our requirement is that, <b>is there any way out to get only user id specific related project definitions from the total list of projects creaetd by different users?</b>

Hi Sudhakar,

there are various authorization objects in PS (e.g. project type for WBS elements). Have a look at transaction SU21 to get a list of all authorization objects.

Then you need to create different roles (via PFCG) and assign them to the corresponding users.

you can define a partnerrol in SPRO where you can add a sap username. depending on the configuration you can enter the same partnerrol multiple times or just one time per project.

ps which transaction do you use for the list ?

Thanks for your valued information. would like to explain you our busniess process so that it would be more helpful to you to undersatnd our requirements so that can expect better suggestions.

1. We have 6 nos of Project types

2. 6 Nrs of Project coding masks

3. 6 Nos of Project Profiles

Please note that, all these profiles and types are defined in line with functional departments.

<b>The basic requirement is, to be defined conditions are</b>

1. if User "A' Belongs to "dept IT... should be able to view only projects related to "IT projects only"

2. if user "B" belongs to dept "Proj"... should be able to view only projects related to "Proj .. Projects only.."

to meet above business requirement, thought of to have some sort of Validations check which as explained below.

1. Create Z table #1 listing all users and their depts

2. Create Z table #2 listing users ids and their roles.

any user accessing system, by inputting "User ID"... the selection parameters are User id... project coding mask and Project profile...

accordingly, the system will display projects only related to user ids. this is a guess and to be tried and implented.

hope you can go through above our proposal and give better suggestions.
