Error when uploading flatfile (UPC204)

Hello All,

According to the how to paper: "Load A Flat File Into BW-BPS Using A Web Browser", I want to upload flatfiles into BPS. However when I upload a file for a certian Fiscal period I receive an error message saying; "UPC204 The generated data is not contained in the selection condition . Value 007.2006 for characteristic Fiscal year/period is not contained in the relevant selection conditions".

The strange thing is that if I first create a single entry manually for that period in my cube (using a manual planning package that is based on the same planning level as the upload is), the flatfile loads without any problems. Only if no data exists for a certain period in my InfoCube the problem occurs when uploading the file.

Hi Cerillo,

What are the conditions in your level or package for that field? Empty, a variable, fixed values?

Maybe this is only a problem about the format of the field. For 007.2006, your field shoud contain 2006007.

Can you debugg the user exit described by SAP How to paper in order to check its content?

Thanks for your reply, For the fiscal period I use a variable in my planning package. For the field format, I indeed use 2006007 in my upload file.

I debugged the user-exit and this seems to work fine, all fields of the file are read and placed in the proper internal tables in the correct fields. I don't expect any problems there.

Please can you check in RSDMD for 0FISCYEAR is your input 007.2006 exists? And please check as well your fiscal year variant.

How do you restrict that variant? With a variable? How do you feed it with the upload program?

Hello Laurent,

As 0FISCPER is a time characteristic, I cannot check the content using RSDMD but the value 007.2006 exists in table T009B. I use the fiscal year variant as a constant value. This value is also included in my upload file. Should this also be a variable??

Hi,

You could remove the variables and values from your level just to try. You would see then if the problem occurs when you post the data, or when the exit feeds the fields.
