merging two branches into one ERP?

So I am working on a virtual "case study" where an organization X have a two geographically separated branches, and CEO wishes to migrate both branches.

he two branches are operationally separated.
Branch A: operates on multi legacy systems that are not integrated with each other whatsoever (i.e. excel sheets, Access database, ..etc.) making tracking sales and profits a painful job.

On the other hand, Branch B: has its own ERP system (not specified whether it's SAP or another vendor, but let's assume it's SAP to make life easier).

CEO is looking for upgrading the current system(s) to either ECC6 or S4/HANA (or maybe a combination of both?).

We are asked to recommend a way on how to do the business transformation for Organization X. Org domain is in manufacturing so there are a lot of sale orders, and customized-orders required. Also, the company deals with 1000+ suppliers worldwide.

How to initiate the migration of the two branches ?

What are the steps to get fully integrated ERP system (if possible)? Re: timeframe, how many months we will be looking at?
