Hi to all,
Pls can anybody tell me whats the main difference b/w calculated keyfigures and formula?
Thanks in Adv,
MSM.
Hi,
Calculated Keyfigure is global (for all the queries for that Infocube/ODS) where as Formula is local(for that query only). CKF will have tech name and description where as Fomula will have only description.CKF is available across all Queries on same InfoProvider where as formula is available for only for that Query.
For more information, pls check

Hi MSM,
Formula are local objects always calculated after aggregation.
Calculated are Global objects (these are like new Key Figures in the Cube, infact for these you are asked to introduce a Technical name) and can be calculated also Before Aggregation (in someparticular cases).

Hi MSM,
1)Global V.S. Local: for some Cubes you have to define some calculation that you know will be used for all queries for that particular cube. In this case you built a Calculated, to use the same in all following query on that cube, otherwise, if you create a Formula, you will need to create the same for every single query.
2)Before Aggregation: If for example you want to determine the Amount like Quantity * Price (with price derived from a Master Data, like 0MAT_PLANT) you must calculate the same Before Aggregation, otherwise the system will produce the sum of Quantity, the sum of Price and then will make SumQuant * SumPrice (logically not correct).
Ciao.
Riccardo.
