Process chain not starting from Metachain

Hi experts

We have a process chain that does not want to start from a Metachain . The Metachain shows as yellow status and there is no logs for the process chain . We have created the variant for the process chain with "Start using Metachain or API " . What could be the problem ? - any help would be appreciated .. Colin
