Initialization DB-Connect Failed

Hello,

While starting j2ee instance, the disp+work process is stopping after about 1 minute.

In the logs following error occur:

 SAP Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 008192

Can some help me, to tell me where to find more details about this error or how to fix it? (To mention oracle is working)

Hi,

Seems to me, it is like env setting/profile parameters problem, especially those related to DB.

Please check few things

- check the entries in DEFAULT / Instance Profile

- are you start up SAP system as <SID>ADM ?

If you have access to SAP Notes, see note 551915.

I am also having this error.

My schema is set to <sid> none of the notes listed in previous posts helped me nor the ones they led to.

"SAP Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 008192" is the error I am recieveing on my application servers.

My central instance works fine.

Installed on W2k3, MSSQL Server 2000 sp4

guys... im doing a restore on NW04s

in the restore step 23 the following error....

SAP-Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256

Disp+work is used for ABAP work processes.

Jlaunch is for Java.

Is you problem with the ABAP side not starting?
