Hi CRM Gurus:
I have a problem, I need to link a BP with Organizational Unit. The situation is that the BP is already exist but this BP was not created as Organization Unit in the PPM_CRM transaction. So we need to create an organization unit and then assigned this to the BP.
Does anybody have an idea how to resolve this problem...
Thx.
Lalo's this is not a very difficult task. You should go to transaction: PPOMA_CRM, Organizational Structre maintenance. Select the node in which you would like to create the new organizational position (simly right click the node and pop-up will contain option to create). Lastly righht click the newly created organizational entity and select option assign and assign your BP accordingly.
Note: in order to be able to assign the business partner ensure it has the role employee maintained since only employees can be assigned to your org. structure.
Hope this helps and assign points where due, Tiest.

Hi Lalo's,
In general CRM scenario, a BP with role 'Organizational Unit' will automatically be created with every CRM organizational unit.
If you DO NOT need to have the org. units created as business partners you can turn this off in configuration.
If you want to establish a link between an existing BP and org. unit, use the transaction PPOMA_CRM and assign the BP to the appropriate org. unit. Do not forget to maintain the role 'Organizational Unit'. But this assignment will not exactly simulate the actual org. unit and BP relationship.
Why do you want to establish the relationship now?
Thanks,

You're correct... The situation is that we have already the BP's, but now we need these bps will be organizational units. We tried to extend these bps as organizational units and then assign them in the organizational structure. But we could not extend, so we tried to make organizational unit and then link with bps.
If it is not possible we should use an Z table where we can link the BP with another BP(which should have been created in the PPOMA_CRM). So we will have got 2 BP's... It's something we don't like and also it will be so difficult to maintained.
We tried to use de BP transaction for extending the BP, but role BUP004 is not available. Only when you create the org. unit from de PPOMA_CRM.
I hope to give you more info. about the situation..
Thanks a lot.
Hi Lalo's,
you can try following settings,
In customization, CRM --> MASTER DATA --> BUSINESS PARTNER --> INTEGRATION BUSINESS PARTNER ORG MANAGEMENT
pl. make ,entry in this table
HRALX ONUMB Number Range( GIVE THIS NUMBER RANGE AS EXTERNAL NUMBER RANGE)
HRALX OPROL BUP004 ( give grouping for org. units)
regards,
PD
Reward points if it helps!!!
Hey Prasant
thanks for ur assistance,
But there is a slight more help needed,,,as u have mentioned that HRALZX-ONUMB, for this we have asigned 1,
which means that an internal number range for BP is created every time an organizational unit is created.
but still having this combination, i am not getting internal assignment everytime i am creating an organizational unit. There must be some more assignment which needs to be mentioned.
and further more where we can find OPROL BUPA004.
REGARDS,
MADHUP
Thank U Tiest...
But let me explain in other words in order to clarify my question.
When you create a Organizational Unit from ppoma_crm, the system creates one Object ID and also one BP. e.g.
ID = O 50001261 is identical to BP = 9300020757. We need that the system does not crate automatically the BP, we want to enter this BP...
Thanks

Lalo, I do not understand what you mean here. You created the organizational object ID = O 50001261 which is also stored as a BP number, in your case 9300020757. Since this is an organizational object (type O) you right-click this object and create a position and assign your business partner to it. Does that make clear what to do? Tiest.
