ALV Direction REUSE vs. OO grid->

I have created most of my ALV reports from the reuse library, ie. function REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.

Figuring OO was SAP future direction I switched over to the method approach, i.e.

grid->set_table_for_first_display.

I have been poking around an ECC 6.0 box and discovered that even with new development SAP was still coding with the REUSE functions.

I would appreciate any thoughts on the best approach,
