Upload of Pricing Conditions R3<>CRM Change Not Immediate

Former Member

Hi,

We are uploading changes for pricing conditions from R3 (47) to CRM (50)using DNL_CUST_CNDALL via the middleware. The object(s) replicate without error and you can see the changes in the pricing condition (PRC_CONDTYPE_CRM).

For example we change a condition to unrestricted to allow for manual updates in the sales order pricing. This changes was not reflected however it seems that after a couple of hours (or even overnight) the changes are changed and we are now able to manually update the condition.

Has anyone experienced this and/or have suggestions?

Cheers

The IPC has a buffer refresh window that can be defined in its configuration. In order to make the CRM customizing visible to IPC faster you have 2 choices:

1 - Restart the IPC service and the new customizing is immediatly available.

2 - Make the refresh window smaller (I think the default is to refresh every 12 hours)

PS: In prodution system the refresh window should be kept large for performance reasons.

Hi João..

I have the same problem.

So could you explain how exactly to restart the IPC service & make the refresh window smaller. Where can I make these settings?

Thanks in advance.

These procedures are done at operating system level.

Control Panel -> Administration Something -> Services

Then there is a service called IPC Server or something like that.

The refresh window is changed in IPC administration, which should be available in the Windows start menu -> Internet Pricing Configurator -> Administration.

Thanks for answer.

But I don't have any IPC information neither in "Control Panel -> Administration -> Services "

nor in Windows start menu.

May be because of IPC is built into CRM 5.0?

Can I find these procedures somewhere else?

Yes, in CRM 5.0 (didn't notice the version in the initial post) it is different. It's probably coupled in IMG or something, but I'm about to start my first 5.0 project, so I don't have much experience with it.

Only demos, and training.

OK, I've checked in 5.0, it is transaction SM53. Under applications, open Configuration, then Components. You have several entries, with daily renual. Unfortunetly it seems to be much more complicated now with a ton of keys to maintain, while in 4.0 you have much less.

My best bet would be key AP_PRC_PR/CACHE, atribute /AP/PRC/Pricing/Customizing. I'll try to find some more information on this.

UPDATE: Information is available in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/e3/1fcb237c5146af88d8a7e982992f3a/frameset.htm

You want to set the parameter "Time-to-live" or "Eviction_period",try to do this and see if it works. I can't try it in my system now.

I think you are close to solution. )

Although I don't understand what to do with the key AP_PRC_PR/CACHE, atribute /AP/PRC/Pricing/Cust..

By the way in order to update pricing customizing we used SM53 - Cash Info - State - Delete - Yes.

& all settings were updated immediatly.

It's a clumsy way because we had to do this after each even little change in pricing.

So i'm not so strong in admanistration & if you find smth else about how to use these keys to update pricing automatically I'll be very thankfull. ))

You have to create a new version, change the parameters and activate it. As I'm not really sure on what you should use, you better stick to your "messy" method

"Delete" can't be used in Prodution but since daily is fine for prodution you won't have any problems there.

Hi Joao,

Thanks for all the help plus the where to see the setup in CRM50. We refreshed the IPC and the configuration changes took place immediately. Also have asked our basis team to schedule the refresh twice daily in our SBX environment.

Thanks again.

Cheers
