Hello,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/d5/581ee8d56f1247bf34cfcd66d16d81/frameset.htm mentions that "Submethods and advance with dialog are not supported for work items that call SAP GUI for HTML"
Can someone explain what this means with an example? Thanks.
Hi,
It means, the ADVANCE WITH DIALOG option will not be available if you execute the same workitem from UNIVERSAL WORKLIST.
Say for example, if you wanna execute two foreground tasks immediately one after another, we use ADVANCE WITH DIALOG option in usual R/3.I mean, as soon as you execute FIRST WORKITEM, the second workitem gets executed automatically without creating a new workitem separetely.
But when we go through UWL, the Advance with Dialog option is no more supported...I mean, two workitems get created individually...

Hi folks,
Actually advance with dialog will work under some specific scenarios from the UWL.
1. If you are launching work items using WinGUI.
2. If you are launching work items using SAPGUI for HTML and are on a high enough release .
In other words, it depends on the launch mechanism - not the UWL.
But of course all they really mean with extended notifications is that the standard set up provides a link to the main launch mechanism only - so you can go straight into launching from the mail (assuming you don't have to feed the launch through your portal for secure login authority or anything similar).
However if you have work that relies on using special features you should be encouraging your users to use a workflow inbox - UWL or SBWP that supports those special features.
By the way - try "multiple notifications per message" - I like the mail!
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Jocelyn
