ICSERVER not running?

Hi,

we are running into the ABAP (BSP) error CX_BSP_WD_HTTP_RESPONSE_ERROR when trying to launch TA CRM_IC in our CRM system. We found SAP note# 722908 which told us that the ICSERVER is not running! The log file os this service contains an entry stating that the XCM configuration parameter cs.http.port does not have a value. We were trying based on the instructions of note# 678141 to get to the XCM configuration but without any luck!!

I hope there is someone out there who knows how to maintain these XCM parameters??

Thanks for any help or ideas!

Wolfgang

Tiest,

thanks a bunch for your quick reply. I had a look at your proposal and unfortunately I couls not find the entry "sap.com/com.sap.ic" in Visual Admin. Could that be the problem and what can we do to "install" it?

Thanks again!

Wolfgang, that is odd indeed, let's check this first.

since you cannot find "sap.com/com.sap.ic" indicating to me that the IC WebClient is not deployed on your J2EE engine. You can download it from SWDC and deploy it using VirtalAdmin.

Secondly you can review whether the required IC related services are running? To check use transaction SICF then select 'sap->bc->bsp->sap'. Now look for the CRM_IC service(s) and activate the service(s) accordingly. Also ensure the following services related to BSP's are active: 'default_host->sap>public->bsp' and 'default_host->sap->bc->bsp'.

Kind regards, Tiest.

Wolfgang, I did some searching and could come up with the following solution directive. Let me know whether this helped solving your issue and assign points where you see fit. Tiest.

1 - Launch the Visual Administrator (VA) of J2EE server. Located here: C:\usr\sap\sid\jc<instance_number>\j2ee\admin\go.bat

2 - logon to the VA using your administrator user and password

3 - Go to: under cluster -> server -> services -> deploy ->servlet_jsp -> select "sap.com/com.sap.ic"

4 - Stop the application and restart the application.

5 - Check with CRMS_IC_CHECK if Java Server pool error is still there.

6 - If yes, check the following RFC destination in SM59

"Http connection to EXT.server". Look for the RFC related to ICserver. It either should be your hostname and/or look like ICSERVER_SOAP_hostname.

7 - Maintain settings according to your settings.
