Lost delta data in FIAR

Former Member

Hi All,

I am facing one problem. Unknowingly the init request has been deleted for FIAR data. and when checked in RSA7 in R/3 even the delta queue was deleted in R/3 production. I wanted to understand how can we retrive this delta. Have we lost the delta data now? How is to be proceeded in this case.

If anybody has worked on any such issue. Please help.

I assure to reward your valuable help with points.

Thanks n Regards,

Wrushali

Hi Wrushali,

Did you deleted the init request from the data target or else only the delta queue is deleted.

if you have delted the init request from the data target you have to again do the initialization if you think that getting a quite time is a problem then do an init without data transfer and then do a repair request into the ODS ( i am assuming you are loading into an ODS)

If only the entry in the delta queue has been deleted then just go to BW and in the infopackage for the init delete the init selections in the infopackage only but not the init request in the data target

and again do an initialization without data transfer then again you can do your deltas as usual.

thanks and regards

There is NO DELTA QUEUE for Finance

The record in RSA7 you are looking at is a dummy pointer to tell you that a delta is active

When you delete the init - the dummy pointer goes away

Finance (AR4 included) work off the timestamp principal

How big is your system?

Do you still have settings in the timestamp tables?

What are your BW OM Settings?

HAve you decoupled your extractors?

DO you still have records in BWFI_AEDAT?

Depending on the answers and how much you know FI - the simplest solution if you don't know FI then is to reinit the whole thing and let the ODS sort out the duplicate data (or drop the ODS and cube)

Hi,

But in FI we do specify the safety limit. ie. set as 1 day. In that case can I get this data and successfully init again and the next delta would start coming in regularly.

Please suggest.

Hi,

If the delta queue is deleted from RSA7 i think you'll not be able to do anything. If you remember the date from which it is lost make it as a selection at infopackage level based on the date and load it.If there are any previous records where there is a chance for duplication. You don't have to worry because you are loading into an ODS.

If you feel that the above option is not viable then go ahead doing one more INIT for this you have to delete the present data.

Hope this helps
