Can someone tell me How to invoke Visual Admin tool?. What should I install and how to invoke it?. Appreciate your help.

Hi,

1) Setup java home environment variable in the System folder of your Lap top.

How do I setup in my system folder of my laptop?. Would you please eloborate?. Our XI is on AIX environment

Hi,

It's part of netweaver installation. You can find it in directory.

To start the Visual Administrator, perform the following:

&#9679; On UNIX platforms, enter on the command line /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/<Instance_Name>/j2ee/admin/go.sh

&#9679; On Windows platforms, run <Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\<Instance_Name>\j2ee\admin\go.bat

Also what is Instance Name in general and how should I find it? .

Hi,

Drive is where you have installed XI

Instance name will be something like JC00 or JC01 (00/01 Instance number)

I'm trying to access Visual admin from my laptop. My Laptop Doesn't have XI. It has only Java Webstart for IR,ID etc.

How can I access the drive where XI is installed?. I cant use it from DOS Prompt from my laptop right ?

Cant we access Visual Admin from the client machines which access XI server? I read in a thread, VA log can be accessed from developers system. If so, can you explain how?

Hi,

Where is your XI installed? You need to access in the installed it will not be available in your system. In my previous reply I saud Drive is installation drive.
