    hi,

    chk this.

    BREAKPOINT

In the source code we set the Break-point there by clicking the stop button, the system will stop there when you execute the program.

    Watchpoint

For watchpoints, we need to give some condition and when this condition is satisfied, program will stop

example : if you want to debug only

for matnr value 100 than set watch point

matnr = 100. when value reaches 100 than

    program stops at that point.

Debugging is actually a snapshot of how the variables/internal tables etc look like, and what values do they hold at a point of run-time.

Using debugging you can stop the control at any statement and see what value a particular vaiable holds at that point in time.

When we know the exact location where you want to stop the program execution, then you go for breakpoint.

When you want to stop the execution of a program when a particular variable attains a value, then you go for watchpoint.

eg: when in a loop, you want to stop the control when the loop holds the 53rd record, then you will have to create a watch point where you specify that

    sy-tabix = 53.

    Regards,

in the source code it self u can write break-point, or u can select the line and select stop button, then at that particular point, the report goes into debugging mode.

watch points are used to watch a particular field value how it is changing.
