hi,
( sap 4.7c + sql server 2000 (Module:sd/mm/fi )
( data : 1 & half year - no BI )
our database size is around 50 GB
and log size is around 30 GB
I doubt that something is wrong.
can anyone explain to me what is right and
what action one should take on this type of scenario.
thanks in advance
raj
thanks Marcin,
you are right. it is 'auto grow'.
i am planning to set 10% of size.
if i apply shrink database today , everytime i have to apply the same ?.
is there any other option also?.
everyone is having such a large log size (30 gb) compare to databse size (50 gb)?.
regards
raj
Hi Raj,
First, check in Enterprise Manager properties of the database. Maybe Your database have 'auto grow' enabled.
That may explain size of database.
You may shrink database too. Empty space allocated in *.mdf, *.ndf, *.ldf files will be truncated.
