IO 232 Status errors occurred for the serial numbers concerned

Hi all,

I am trying to create count for inventoy documents using BAPI_MATPHYSINV_COUNT.
It is working fine if the material is not serialized.
In case of serialized materials i am passing serial numbers as a table to the above BAPI.
It is giving the following error.
"STATUS ERRORS OCCURED TO THE SERIAL NUMBERS CONCERNED"
Message class is : IO, and message number is 232.

The important part would be to know the other errors. IO232 is just a summary that tell that "Status errors" are present. For a solution we would need to know which status errors have been issued.

if I am not totally mistaken then the status should be PIAC when you enter a count.

How did you create the inventory document?

User interfaces make use of conversions, in BAPIs the programmer has to take care of submitting the right values.

Are you certain about the values that you submit, e.g. think about leading zeros.

Also we do not know much about your release, had you already searched for OSS notes?

there are some returns for the search term: BAPI_MATPHYSINV_COUNT serial

    e.g. 996438 - Serial number status BAPI_MATPHYSINV_COUNT is incorrect

which has a correction for ECC 6.0
