Printing Issue Urgent!!!!!

Hello gurus,

Currently sapscript is priniting fine in Laser Printer but if we issue the output in DOTMATRIX Printer the

font size changes and its printing in some other font

so , what steps do we need to take so that it prints fine

in dotmatrix printer without disturbing the current setttings.

Hi Aryan,

Still if you issues while printing the data on Dot matrix printer please follow following points:

1) Check the page format of your preprinted page and select the same page format.

2) the Font size which prints in the lazer print will be different in the dot matrix printer and the font goes with the dotmatrix printer format. So as said by Raghu need to set up the existing dot Matrix printer in the SAP system & this will be done by basis person and then the same basis person need to sep the character and all required details for the newly addeed dotmatri printer.

3) Tab formatalso difers forthe dot matrix printer, os need to first check on the preprinter page of thelength of the chacters and then define or maintain the same length in the layout. The lengths which are defined for Lazer will not work for the dot matrix printer.

4) Now while printing need to select the newly defined printer for the layout and then do the printing.

Do lert mek now still if you have any issues, all most in all the project i had done till date in my 8 years expriance i handeled the same type of issues and useed to solve them accordingely. So if yo have issues do let me know in deails about the issue so that i can answer them accordingely.

Thanks for your reply they will decide on the paper format based on my output what is happening here is they are comparing the forms from laser printer and expect the same alignment from Dotmatrix printer.

Currently teh Basic Settings has Tab stop 4 CH

Font Family Courier Font size 12.0

Pageformat Dina4 Portrait.

Lines/Inch 6.00

Char/Inch 10.00

Do I need to make any chages here which will fullfill my requirement ?

Hi,

No issuse wiht the font. have a look again at page format and tab stop. That's it anyhow make a final call after you decied on paper format.

Hi,

Go to SPAD and check your printers installed. or change the output device type, while printing.

There are couple of issues here

1) The printing does not start from the place where

lazer prints from some spaces are left from

start and then it starts printing

2) the font size and the font looks different in DOTMATIX

than in lazer

3) The alignment gets disturbed

For example

17778888 XXX 19 20 In lazer

17888888 XXX 19 20 In Dotmatix

Hi,

Is it the same paper size you are printing from. Can you check out the layout that you are using. Its all about the layout you use in form and SPAD. Definitely nothing more than that.

You check your paper size in Basic Settings.

In Spad I can see the printer installed could you please tell me what paper size do I need to use for

Dotmatrix printer ?

currently we are using DINA4 Portrait for Lazer outputs

Sorry for that. <b>First you try changing the output type while printing</b>. I guess this will solve your problem. I am not in office, can answer on paper size you soon. reward if useful.

Outtype we will be using different output types

1) for lazer and other for dotmatrix

so no conflicts in that its only relating to

printing issue

Dear Aryan,

Printing with Dot Matrix Printers is hell of a job with Sap.

To my knowledge check the following steps.

1. Check in SPAD for correct printer - ofcourse u wud have done it

2. Check the printer driver compatibility assigned in SPAD

3. Not only the paper size assignment in sapscript is sufficient.. you will have to look for the paper assignment in windows of the system where the printer is connected.

4. Another very important point is that the printer driver for dot matrix printer should be installed on the windows where the printer is connected. Often its not done on XP Os. But it is recommended to do so - very imp

5. If you are not able to print vertical lines or window borders eg., SY-VLINE , then you will have to redo the sapscript.

6. Dot Matrix printers dont have the concept of windows. so rather you design your form as if it were in straight lines.

Thanks for your reply . now the vlines are not printing in the output but based on my output they will decide their paper format assuing taht the preprinted stationary will have lines ect

my only job here is to make the script run for dotmatrix

basically layout og couple of fields gets displayed here and there and the header prints half inch ahead of lazer prints .. please provide some more tips how do I control this can I check these settings here in my comp
