LO Cockpit

Hi Guys. I am new to BW. I need your answers to understand the basic logic behind LO COCKPIT.

What is the use of using LO Cockpit ? Why cant we use the extractors directly without doing all customizations for LO Cockpit ? What is the difference between using the extractors directly and using them after LO Cockpit Configurations.

I have been through these links. I searched SDN before posting. But as I am very new, I just want to understand the basics.

Can u brief me in yr own words about the advantages of LO and how it differ from using common extractors.

Hi Vishwa,

LO extractors are standard extractors given by SAP keeping the basic reporting needs in mind..for these applications like 11, 12, 13 etc.

Based on your clients requirements.,..you might have done some customization on R/3 and your business might want to have a look at those fields..also besides what has been provided by standard extractors.. As you always have a way to customize things in SAP.. You can alsways pull the fields required for your business by enhancing the extract strcuture..adding new fields, as you add new fields you need populate as well as SAP extractor has not taken care for those!!!.. So you need to code that in user exit and populate those from your tables..

Hi Vishwa,

These extractors, as you will see from docs I have sent you, have a complex logic for determine delta and relationship beetween different steps of a process in LO, like Order Creation - Delivery - Billing.

Delta concept is also based on following all these following steps and also Storno of the same.

I do not think you will be able to extract in the same simply way data for LO using custom extractors.

Please read before LO docs I have sent you, then if you have still doubts please let us know.

So you mean we can customize ( add new fields ) only in LO extractors and not in normal SAP delivered extractors ( which we see in RSA6 ) ?

No I dont mean that.. you can customize other extractors as well..

For FI extractors.. The procedure for customer exits is described in OSS note 410799.

Hi Vishwa,

Define and schedule all extraction of LO data on the base of corresponding Application Component.

But is it possible to use these extractors without settings in LBWE ? Delta is still functioning ?
