Use RSRT to execute the query with the Execute + Debug option. Choose the MultiProvider Explain option..

Review your queries and see what characteristics are always/typically used for filter/restricting the data. If these characteristics have a high enough degree of cardinality (# distinct values vs rows in the ODS) you can consider an index, indexes, or multi-column index. you really need to know what the portfolio of quereis that will hit the underlying InfoProviders looks like to be able to make decisions about additional indexes.

Get the Explain plans for the queries and see where you have full table scans that are a large part of the total query cost. You may benefit from secondary indexes on some master data tables in addition to secondary indexes on the ODS.

If you have a DBA in your shop, it would be wise to review what you want to do. There are tradeoffs to adding indexes - indexes consume disk space and add to the laod time, so you have to balance those anf query performance gain.

You may want to use aggregates on those two cube and test that on tcode RSRT...check the RSDDSTAT* table to see what is the DBTIME and OLAPTIME..

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Andy,

Try also with RSRTRACE, with these you can find Aggregates also on the base of navigation steps.

    Ciao.
