Idoc related

Hi Gurus,

I am new to idoc and I do no how to use in programming.

could you people please help me out in learning Idoc with a real time scenario like..when idoc is coming from third party system..my program shld identify and then check it to which module it belongs and get the details of idoc and display and one more query if idoc is coming from other system which carries information abt purchase order details or invoice details whether the data in idoc is automatically updated in the sap system or we shld update...

I dont have idea how to work with idoc...

Please guys help me out in learning idoc fullfledge with a help of a live scenario..
