Navigation within formatted Reports?

Hi,

I read that navigation with formatted Reports (designed with the Report Designer) is limited, compared to Web Applications build with the Web application Designer.

But what kind of navigation is possible with formatted Reports, when published to the Web? Can I change the Report using filter, or variables? Any chance to change the report at runtime?
