Configuring LDAP as a datasource in portal

Hi all,

I am in the process of configuring LDAP Novell edirectory as a data source in addition to the default DB.

The issue is: Connection test fails after I have entered the values in configtool & click Test Connection.

The thing is when I don't specify the password for the LDAP server, the connection test passes!!Otherwise, I get an error saying 'Connection test fails. Error code 13 confidentiality required'.Don't know what's happening.

Can somebody help me in this regard?

Thanks & regards,

M.Subathra

    Hello,

Something is wrong with the user ID/Pass that you try to configure:

    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-5616-10/error.htm#42977

The best way is to download the LDAP browser:

    http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~gawor/ldap/

Try to configure it for the connection/authenticatio process. When successful enter that data in UME. Do not use the LDAP view in the Config tool, since that is just a 'view' which actually displays your configuration. Always when you maintain UME parameters, use the procedure described here:

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0b/50ad3e1d1edc61e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

    Cheers, Iliyan
