For a very long time, we have been seeing these type of errors on our applications servers:

Wed Oct 11 06:32:45 2006

Network error of client T105, NiBufReceive (-6: NIECONN_BROKEN), dp_tm_status=3

Client address of T105 is 10.1.11.4(namdms010.na.mccormick.com)

***LOG Q04=> DpRTmPrep, NiBufReceive (7018 MT3TEMP4 105 NAMDMS010 ) [dpxxdisp.c 7966]

RM-T105, U7018, 030 MT3TEMP4, NAMDMS010, 06:03:51, M0, W10, ZMLV, 2/0

Our network group says there is no issue....I've opened a note with SAP and they say it a network issue.

Can someone please help if you have had this issue...I just want to fix the problem! Thank you

Hi Dawn,

I myself had faced this problem before.This was due to the Fully Oualified Host Name (FQDN) of the SAP system given in the parameter icm/host_name_full.This should match the domain in which your system resides.

That is if your system is in the domain say...mycompany.co.in and your server's host name is ABC.Then the FQDN should be ABC.mycompany.co.in and not any thing else

Best Regards

Amit

hi dawn,

we too have seen this issue. we see it due to a difference in our windows and dns domains. we are in a windows environment. the domain of our PDC is different than our DNS domain though. so we join our server to the windows PDC but we use the DNS suffix as the server address response.

we change this in system properties --> computer name --> change --> more --> enter primary dns suffix (i.e. wdf.sap.com). after this, the error goes away for us.

What are the symptons of this error?

It is possible that you have network hicups that are not noticeable to the end user, but SAP detects it.

In this case you can ignore the errors.
