Hello,

Anyone can substitute anyone for themselves unless you have something specific developed to check limits during approval.

This is a company policy thing, but the norm is that when you name a substitute you also take responsibility for their actions. If you trust someone to spend 50000 then you trust them to nominate someone sensible when they go on holiday.

Some companies don't like this and build custom functionality to limit this but that can get very involved.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi

It depends on your design.

If you are using the standard workflow template - the approval limit are assigned through SAP Authorizations. If the approvers substitute haven't got authorization to the release code (I think - or perhaps the release strategy) he will not be able to release the purchase order.
