REGARDING LO COCKPIT AND DELTA LOAD ERRORS

dear friends,

i got some queries

1. WHENEVER WE ARE DOING DELTA LOAD DAILY FROM 7TH OCTOBER,2006(AFTER INITIALIZATION FOR UPDATE SUCCESSFULL), SUDDENLY DELTA LOAD GOT FAILED FOR 10TH OCTOBER, 2006 THEN HOW THE SITUATION CAN BE HANDLED WHEN WE ARE LOADING INTO A

(a)ODS OBJECT

(b)INFOCUBE

EXPLAIN IN THE BOTH SCENARIOS

2.IN LO CUSTOMIZING COCKPIT IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE IN DATALOADING FROM DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS LIKE PURCHASING, SD SALES, SD BILLING, INVENTORY CONTROLLING ETC.. INTO THE BW DATATARGETS. I HEARD THAT SOME SETTINGS WE HAVE TO DO IN BW SIDE, WHEN WE ARE LOADING DATA FROM PURCHASING(MM) INTO BW DATATARGETS.

Please let me know the solutions for the above queries in detail with an example. please dont suggest any help.sap.com links.

Hi,

1. When any delta load fails, first you need to understand the error it failed for and remove that, else the next time you do the delta, it'll fail again. To handle a failed delta, do the following steps:

a. Mark the QM status of the request RED in monitor (don't mark it green otherwise you risk losing that data).

b. Delete the request from the data targets (ODS or cube).

c. Go back to the delta info package and re execute. It'll prompt you for a repeat delta. Click yes and then then let it run. It'll upload the data from the failed request and any other delta data created since.

d. If you are loading from ODS to cube and that delta fails, repeat the same steps as above, only difference is before loading the repeat delta, make sure that you reset the datamart status in the ODS for the failed request(s), else if you don't you'll get 0 records.

2.For LO customizing cockpit, there's not too many changes for any application as such. You have application specific datasources and app specific set up tables and jobs, etc but not too much difference. The process is the same may it be MM or SD. If you are looking for something specific, you can search the forum as these topics have been discussed at various times.

dear kedar,

what kind of errors we get in the delta load, give me some real time examples.

when loading delta data from ods to cube, if the load fails then u told me to follow the steps which u said but one thing i didnot understand, u said that "to reset the datamart status in the ODS for the failed request(s), else if you don't you'll get 0 records." where i should set the staus in the ods object. i didnot find that option. can u explain that some wat detail way.

Hi Hari Prasad,

Kedar is correct.. to explain in the detail way..datamart status forms when your request posted to next connected data targets..then in your ODS you will find datamart got tick marked..if you click on that tick mark you will find delete symbol there you have to reset the datamart status and run the load again otherwise you will get ZERO records.

coming to kind of errors,you will have many like time conversion problems, date conversion, uodate rule problems, processing overdue,
