I found that SMP3.0 will cache the data to the smp3.db and smp3.log under C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\Server\db\sa\smp3 Each time when I do get/post requests to smp applications. And the previous data in smp3.db and smp3.log will not being cleaned up.After many get/post requests, these two documents will be too large to filling the server disk, which resulting in the SMP service can not connect.

Could anyone help me?

Thanks a lot.

Tim

Hello Tim,

Regarding your question? Are you sure this is smp3.txt? There should be two files:

  1. smp3.db which is the database file
  2. smp3.log which is the log file that tracks all the committed transaction

If you want to make the system to create a new one, do the following:

  1. Shutdown SMP3.0 cleanly. Make sure you do not kill the service otherwise, the process will below will not work
  2. Make a backup copy of the SMP3.log and the SMP3.db
  3. Now delete SMP3.log or remove it somewhere else
  4. Restart SMP3.0
  5. Now it will create a new one

Note: You can manage the growth of the log file by using the dbbackup utility to truncate the log or rename it and create a new one. You can find details about dbbackup in the SQL Anywhere help

Note: You may want to change the File Explorer settings to show the extension of the files.

I hope this answer your questions.

Thank you

Hi Ali,

Thanks for your answer. And it's smp3.log/smp.db in fact.

I found these 2 files become larger each time when I get data from smp.About 100~200M.

I guess there is some problem.

This is expected behavior for these files to grow like that. You just need to manage the log file.
