Business content doubts

Hi gurus,

i am installing the BCT and i have read a document which lists the below details

1. if an object is already available in A version we will have a green light in the Active column indicating that object is already active and also match is by default checked.

2. if the object is not available in A version we will get both the install option checked...and no green light available in Active column...am i right.

Here in my sitaution

i am trying to install Infosource and Transfer rules for a datasource with In Data flow before option.

1. side to the transfer rules install option is greyed and only match is available and no indication in active column as well...what does that mean.

Below the transfer rules i have a list of objects

Infoobjects --- in that also below that i have a list of infoobjects where in they are having indicator Active but both the install and match are available to select

but one or two infoobjects don't ahve active light then the install option is greyed and it is only selected if i check mark the top node INFOBOJECTS only...what does this mean.

WHEN THE ACTIVE LIGHT IS NOT THEIR THEN THE INSTALL OPTION IS GETTING GREYED BUT ONLY MATCH IS AVIALABLE

IF ACTIVE LIGHT IS THEIR THEN BOTH THE OPTIONS ARE AVIALABLE.

i will be happy if somebody can clear this up.

thanks a lot in advance

Neel

    hi Neel,

gray means that object is inactive, see detail

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/80/1a66d5e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

    try

    - first choose grouping only necessary objects

    - then 'in dataflow before', to have source system datasource automatically assigned to infosource, you can transfer first the business content datasource in source system (rsa5) and replicate to bw.

and don't forget to mark datasource in business content installation screen (icon yellow box X).

    hope this helps.

      Hi A.H.P

      thanks for the info,

grey light means object inactive that i got...

but when an object doesn't have anything in the Active version column...that means the object is not available in Acitve version right...

but the install option is not available to check which is beside the object only match option is available for ticking...why so...

and the objects below this are having install option available...as well as the match option even when they are having Green light in the Active version column...

i observed only objects which don't have any indication in the active version column are having the install option not available...why so..

      thanks and regards

      Neel

    Neel,

try expanding the BCT Tree and see if all other dependent objects are also greyed out...
